Courage (I)
To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable." - Helen Keller
No doubt there exist real dangers in life you must avoid. But there's a huge gulf between recklessness and courage. By courage I mean the ability to face down those imaginary fears and reclaim the far more powerful life that you've denied yourself. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of going broke. Fear of being alone. Fear of humiliation. Fear of being ostracized by family and friends. Fear of physical discomfort. Fear of regret. Fear of success.
How many of these fears are holding you back? How would you live if you had no fear at all? You'd still have your intelligence and common sense to safely navigate around any real dangers, but without feeling the emotion of fear, would you be more willing to take risks, especially when the worst case wouldn't actually hurt you at all? What if you even learned to enjoy the things you currently fear? What kind of difference would that make in your life?
__________________________________________I think i no longer need the clock to tell me the limit. Think i dun trust whoever that invented that. Haha..now, i no longer compete with time, reaching certain stupid time targets i used to set for swimming and running. Now, im competing with myself. And i know i can do much better than me.
Another enlightenment. For some period of my life, i was questioning why i like to do certain things. Is it coz' it give me a sense of control?a sense of escapism? Perhaps perhaps. But i figured out that i couldnt derive the similar great feelings and sensations i feel in the different activities. One of my friend told me be4, that there would probably be some reasons why one pick up something. I agree. But can this be found in other activities? For me, probably not. Haha..it seems like i couldnt explain what is called passion. And i'm gonna live my life this way, even if my family gonna kick me out of the house.Haha..=P Say im crazy, i dont care.
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear"- Mark Twain
