My first official interview

Before the interview, feeling confident.
(bahaha...perhaps coz more or less less enthu abt passing this one after doing some research..but neway, im determine to go and have some fun as well as learn more from working personnel..yey!)
*mentally tired* wah, just back awhile from an hour of intensive interview for the position of a career consultant( or recruitment consultant wateva they like to call it). Would say i enjoyed it. Haha..the director of the company seems nice. Or perhaps im feeling good 'coz he keep saying :"very good, excellent" when i answered his questions. (perhaps just out of courtesy?) bahaha..this interview is a morale booster. At least tallys with my best case scenario i've imagined up yesterday night. xP
Like what a great consultant would do, he bring me through a imaginary run through of what i will be doing and the extreme cases i might faced. What about the industry that i said is right or different. I was asked about my outlook on my career and so on and asked how i feel towards what he said. Challenging, is what i said. It's gonna a challenge. Haha..as expected, he asked why i not doing a career of my field and choose to move out of the engineering side. Hahaa..all the questions he asked are expected, feel quite good i managed to predict his questions ( or actually should i say, they are 'standard' questions. *proud*
Think interviews are good. Everytime i went thru' one, it would leave me feeling lost, confused and put me in dilemma. However, after each confusion, i've learnt to be more focus and pushes me to further find out about myself and what i want. As lost as i've always been, things are slowly narrowing down. Gathering feedbacks from my friends (still gathering) before making any decisions. Think i'll be busy talking to people the next few days. Gonna go and "interview" and talk to people in the HR sector currently..haha..like do project like that. xP
Okie, just in case you are wondering what sort of interview questions they have asked, i've put down all those that i can remember of as follow. Perhaps many are expected questions, but its the preparation that is more important. From practical experience, it DOES matter to do up research on the company and the position you are seeking for.
- Why are you interested in this position?
- (if you are applying outside your field) Is there any reason why you are not embarking on a career of your area of specialisation? and why are you interested in this position?
- What makes you think that you might be suitable for this position?
- What do you understand about the company operation?
- What do you know about (the position you are applying for)?
- What fields are you looking into? (they DO know we are applying for many positions and companies) Reasons?
- What are the problems or difficulties that you think you will face when you started off in this position?
- How would you overcome the problem?
- How mentally prepared would you be? Are you able to take setbacks and stand up fast?
- How confident are you in doing a good job?
These are examples of some questions he asked me. Of course interview is a 2-way thing. I've asked him as many questions as well. (but think you are not too interested in this?hahah..) Neway, just fyi, i asked abt job advancement in the coy, i questioned the structure of the coy, asked abt its operation, how they distribute their task and how different divisions work together as a team. Commented on some of the tgs i've heard abt the industry, suggested sm improvements that can be made to the process and asked about overseas placement opportunities yada yada.
okay, now is the time to be headache over the next few days. To take it up or not to. The company is very nice, they are willing to wait until i graduate and offered sound advise to me. The environment is friendly and comfortable. The director seems reasonable enough to give me the incentives i want when i performed well ( okie, at least that's what he told me). They are willing to give me the training i want... (haha...on the other hand, perhaps they are in such urgent need of consultant that most people applying for this will get it?? who knows man? haha..at end of the day, think im not as good after all. Just happened to hop by one which just want anyone??? bahahaha....guess so...) but neway, time to re-evaluate what i really want in my career and whether i should take the risk. yada yada...guess it all depends on myself? hmmm...should give it serious thought.
