Kind-heartedness = digging your own grave
It's sad when one's kind-heartedness is being exploited. We are taught to be helpful, forgiving, respectful and courteous to people, especially the young and the elderly. Yet, in this world, in this society we live in, we cant practise what we've learnt without scrutiny and doubt. Manipulation of goodwill, kindness and what we deem as 'kind-heartedness'.
When kind-heartness no longer helps someone, but puts yourself in hot soup. When just being that little soft-hearted lands you in great trouble with the criminals let out of the net. The society is getting more and more 'polluted' its driving me nuts, as i try my best to become a more stone-hearted person. Yet there is this bugging voice asking myself, "what if he/she is really in trouble?". Stop. Just say no. Perhaps i should bring along a book full of numbers where i can refer them to so that they will not end up on the streets or smtg. A lesson learnt today, as well as a reminder - dont trust strangers and always practise with caution.
Just some warnings:
1) Dont buy tissue/watever tgs they selling when sm1 approach you while u'r eating in the coffeeshop or hawker center. What more, dont just 'donate' to them. This is illegal, and they might be 'used' by sm ?@??..if you really wanna help, refer them to the respective social centres.
2) Never help an elderly to withdraw money at ATM machines when they ask you for help. You will be 'commiting' a crime as YOU are being captured in the video while the elderly uses a stolen card to withdraw the money. There are already many cases of such when these 'good' people are being charged by doing a good deed!

3) Never ever help any1 at the airport or when you are transiting...guess it obvious to most.
Irony. Then when you practise with caution, others might think that you're stingy, unhelpful or cold-blooded. Yet you know that is not the case. Haha.....oh well.
