Happiness vs Success
Success is getting what you want; Happiness is wanting what you get
More often than not, success doesn't equate happiness. There could be something in life which you want to achieve or possess, yet sometimes, this desire and want disappears shortly after you've successfully gotten what you've always wanted. I think that tag line describes this the best. Happiness is wanting what you get. So what if you have gotten what you wanted? Is it really what makes you happy? Or is it something you THOUGHT would make you happy? Or perhaps, what you want is not what you thought or expect it to be?
I believe that each of us are searching for happiness, in our own way. Something or someone who could bring smiles and happiness in our lives. Some seek it through achievements in their career, some seek it in that special someone, some seek it through their faith in a religion while some seek it through internal peace with life... but how many of us are truly happy today? That greed intrinsic to us, never fails to show up after each success or happiness. Not everyone can be contented with the current state. Ironically, we need this greed to improve ourselves, improve our lives...to create a better tomorrow, for a better self. Then, this leads on to the art of balance in life. Another huge topic which i shall not cover.
Are you successful now? Are you happy now?
I'm finding my way to success....and have yet to find happiness. How about you? Have you found your happiness?
